Indigenous Sorrow

"Indigenous Sorrow"  54x36  Acrylic  on  canvas
this is a re-habbed painting I started over a year ago it went through many stages

It is about the empathy I feel for the Native  Americans and the suffering  they  endured  at  the  hands  of  the  Europeans, my response to  Columbus Day, which I do not support.

New Series

"Balance" is the theme of my latest series which I inaugurate with  "Leaning Towards Organic"  48x72  Acrylic on canvas

Quote of the Day; "No great artist ever sees things as they really are, if he did he would cease to be an artist."
~ Oscar Wilde (1854-1900) Irish poet and dramatist.

Perhaps it is thru art that we see more clearly.

Conflict and struggle permeate our lives, on the canvas I seek to find balance between Geometric and Organic Shapes. I tend to favor organic shapes, and earth colors. Also with this series I'm intending to not over work the canvas and retain a great deal of spontaneity and freshness.

Perhaps it is thru art that we see more clearly.

Feels like Spring!

"Feels Like Spring" 54x54  Acrylic on canvas ... I was walking out at White Rock Lake this morning, so gorgeous out there, and came back to paint this over a painting I'd been working on for weeks. I know it's Fall right now, but this morning it felt like spring to me.
